Intro

In all great forms of literary art, there is an important message being passed. How the message is passed is just as, or often times, more important than what the substance is. I believe my previous statement is the true meaning of writing, or in this case, advertising rhetorically. I plan to analyze several different ads that you may have seen or heard about. This analysis will uncover the purpose and many strategies used in the advertising industry.

Conclusion

As we have seen, there are many strategies companies like to use to push there ads. Sometimes we don’t realize what they are doing. In some cases we interpret information differently than others. What is certain is that these companies are very smart and seductive. In order to find the true meaning you have to look deeper into the advertisement and figure out there strategy. I’m sure the next time you see a magazine article; you’ll be trying figure if they are trying to “scare” you or not.

Another major topic being discussed is the internet. Regulating the internet is very important for many countries. An information system for everyone to access will greatly improve our society.
“WSIS aims to bridge the wide gap in access to information technologies between affluent and poor communities, will hold its second phase in Tunis over two days from 16 to 18 November, which is sponsored by the United Nations. But regardless of their intentions they still have to convince a fractioned governmental control by each country to basically go along with standards that many will balk at doing, especially those countries where communications and the media are controlled by the government itself, as in China.”
Hopefully the WSIS can get thing moving in the right direction.
I never really though about the internet in other countries. I now realize how important it is to regulate it within all countries. Not only so poor communities can learn but so we can learn about them as well. Everyone connected together, I think that that is the true purpose of the internet to begin with.

The television ad I will analyze is an Xbox 360 commercial. The xbox 360 is a new multimedia videogame system coming out on the 22nd. Think of Playstation 2 but 10x better. Anyway the commercial shows kids jumping on some jump rope on the street having a goodtime. Then the tag-line comes in. “Jump In” That gets the point across pretty good. Basically it means purchase the system so you can join everyone else having fun. Unfortunately, I don’t have 400 dollars to “Jump In”.
